So a couple days ago, on globalgrind.com, I read an article written by Yolande Geralds, which is gorgeous by the way. Her article was about how dark skin women get overshadowed in the media, especially hip hop media...which I think is true. But anyways, she was talking about how at a certain point if you weren't light you weren't getting in the video, but it's gotten even worse now! Black women either light or dark, are barely getting parts now.
Mainly European and Spanish women are getting the jobs on tv and video, aint that a trip? I mean, truthfully I wouldn't really get shocked and angry if a white person judged me based on my skin, because truthfully, I expect it. But I'd be damned if another black person were to talk to me about 'youre too light' or 'youre too dark'. I'd be like waaahhhttt?
I think it's shame that African Americans still judge EACH OTHER based on skin color, I guess we just never learn our lesson huh?
